The Knights of Pythias songbook Odes and Marches of the order of Knights of Pythias contains over a dozen ritualistic songs, almost all written by Justus Henry Rathbone. An alternate melody to the Initiatory Anthem is also found; a second Installation Ode is used for other purposes.

The Order of Knights of Pythias is an international, non-sectarian fraternal order, established in 1864 in Washington, DC, by Rathbone and was the first fraternal order to be chartered by an Act of Congress.
