I am in the final stages of a book dedicated to Black Forest horology. The book will published in English and carry the title, “Rare and Unusual Black Forest Clocks”. Schiffer Books has contracted to will publish this book in the fall of 2011, and always put out an excellent product. I am posting this message as I am looking for clocks to feature in this volume, and hope to find some additional contributors. 25.1/4 Symphonion. 'Grand Monstor' With duplex comb arrangement. This was Symphonions answer to the Polyphon Mikado, or vise/versa. This piece is in superb unrestored condition, and is of absolute Museum / collector Quality. Mechanically perfect playing bright, clear, & crisply with the silver tones of a big Symph. It took me over 25 years of looking to find this rare piece & it needs nothing apart from a new home. I am in a Krewe in New Orleans that recently formed called the Organ Grinders. Our theme is that of the turn of the century Organ Grinder and we have choreographed several different couples dances around that theme with music that blends the modern and the old world kind of feel. The Krewe is a walking Krewe that will make it’s debut this week. We have been in the market for some kind of inexpensive crank/roller organ that has the look and feel of the Organ Grinder idea. I had no trouble making a replica using this case as the pattern. It is very complete. I can definitely help with any missing measurements and tips on constructing a new case.
